Verses to Read on Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving looks different this year for most of us, but we can still practice thanks and gratefulness for the blessings we still have! You have air in your lungs, food on the table, people who love you, and a roof over your head. Or, at the very least, you have Internet because here you are.

Times are tough. But they could be much, MUCH tougher.

Here are my favorite scriptures to read before Thanksgiving dinner:

  • Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body, you were all called to peace. And be thankful. -Colossians 3:15

  • And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name. -1 Chronicles 29:13

  • The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. -Psalm 28:7

  • The earth has yielded its produce; God, our God, blesses us. - Psalm 67:6

Happy Thanksgiving, and enjoy your food coma -- even if its from takeout food this year! :-)
