Small Ways to be Kind Today!

Hey there.
I don't usually post on Tuesdays, I know, but I wanted to share some small things we can do to be kind to one another. I preached on kindness recently, and it resonated with a lot of people because we are all starving for genuine, real, kindness. We are depleted. Our tanks are not low, they are empty. We are craving the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.
Kindness is our calling. It is the root of love, which is our mission as believers. We must be engaging with and practicing loving-kindness, growing and stretching our kindness muscle, so that it becomes our default response to people, no matter what.
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. -- Galatians 5:13
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. -- 1 Thess. 5:11
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
-- Galatians 6:9

The thing about kindness is that we choose it. We get to choose if we will be kind or not. Every day is a Choose-Day. We can choose to be kind. We can choose to be positive. We can choose to be loving. We can choose to be grateful. So I dare you to choose kindness on this Choose-Day. Aesop once famously wrote, "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."
Here are some ideas to get you started:
Compliment three people today.
Let someone go ahead of you in line.
Send a gratitude email to a loved one or coworker who deserves more recognition.
Return shopping carts at the grocery store.
Take flowers to some nurses/healthcare workers.
Put your phone away in the company of others.
Donate old clothes to a family in need.
Go one full day without complaining.
Give your server an extra-generous tip, and maybe an encouraging note.
Smile at a stranger.
Let's flex those kindness muscles, gang! Happy Tuesday. <3
