Hey y'all!
As I prepare to start meeting with my youth group again (wahoo!) I started thinking about all of the tools and resources I've been using over the last year that have seriously upped my youth pastor game.
I've heard the joke "It takes a village" in regards to raising a kid, but I think this has to hold true for YPs too! Besides having an awesome, supportive youth team, these virtual resources have been SUCH a blessing, and I wanted to share them with you. If you don't have an arsenal of virtual assistance in your village, you should definitely check these out:
Canva - I've raved about Canva before, but for those who may not know, let me put you on: This is the best graphic design platform I have EVER used. I use Canva for everything, from our Youth Newsletter to our social media posts. The platform is free (though you can upgrade to a paid subscription if you like) and comes with super intuitive content and pre-made templates that make creating designs a literal dream come true. I love this so, so, so, SO much. (Bonus: Canva is great even if you aren't a youth pastor. You can use it for posters, websites, notecards, socials, etc. It's truly an awesome tool. Did I mention I love it?)
EgadIdeas - If you're a YP, you probably already know about Egad, I know. But it truly is the neatest place for getting games/activities! And it's FREE! FREE I TELL YOU! If you need indoor or outdoor games, ice-breakers, crafts, or fundraisers, then Egad Ideas will have something for you.
The Source for Youth Ministry - Most youth pastors swear by this site, and it's a classic for a reason. There are tons of free resources and ideas, and they also offer free training and insightful articles on life in youth ministry. Highly recommend.
Women In Youth Ministry - If you're a female youth pastor with a Facebook account, and you're not a member of this group: WHY?! I've been in many a toxic "youth pastor" group -- but this isn't one of them. This is an excellent, funny, engaging community of women in youth ministry. I love it so very much, and you probably will too.
If you've got any YP resources, be sure to drop them below in the comments!
xx
