Lets be kind.
When the woman with the messy ponytail, and the music blaring, cuts us off in traffic,
When the people in our congregations whisper behind our backs,
When the cashier in the market is cold,
Let’s be kind.
When our kids have failed to pickup the toys we asked them to two hours ago,
When that student has once again failed to turn in his homework,
When our boss snaps at us,
Let’s be kind.
When our friend gets dumped by another wrong guy,
When our brother is stuck in a shame-spiral,
When our in-laws threaten our very sanity,
Let’s be kind.
When our husbands fail to take out the garbage again,
When our wives give us the silent treatment,
When we can’t seem to get it together,
Let‘s be kind.
When you feel broken from the weight of your burdens, depression, loneliness, or fear — be kind.
When you are left or laughed at — be kind.
When you are questioning your faith, wandering in the wilderness — be kind.
Be kind, brothers. Be kind sisters.
Let’s be kind always, for if we are, we will see the world change one pivot towards generosity at a time.
