Happy Mother's Day.

Mama's are the unsung heroes of our everyday lives; they hold us when we fall down, they love us enough to tell us hard truths we need to know, and they guide us on how to prioritize what's really important.

Moms love us when we're at our worst, and they almost always forgive us. They teach us how to clean, cook, and keep our skin moisturized. They encourage us to stay hydrated, and they tell us, "Text me when you're home!" because otherwise they won't be able to sleep.

Mothers laugh with us, they lead us, they love us unconditionally.

My own Mom is one of my dearest friends and confidants. I'd be truly lost without her.

So for all the Madres out there who aren't told Thank You enough, who don't get the credit they deserve, who keep the world running, this is for you. <3

I wanted to share a poem about Mothers by one of my favorite poets, Christina Rossetti. It's called

"[Sonnets are full of love, and this my tome]."

Sonnets are full of love, and this my tome Has many sonnets: so here now shall be One sonnet more, a love sonnet, from me To her whose heart is my heart’s quiet home, To my first Love, my Mother, on whose knee I learnt love-lore that is not troublesome; Whose service is my special dignity, And she my loadstar while I go and come. And so because you love me, and because I love you, Mother, I have woven a wreath Of rhymes wherewith to crown your honoured name: In you not fourscore years can dim the flame Of love, whose blessed glow transcends the laws Of time and change and mortal life and death.
